I am 46 and have worked as an Ophthalmology technician at a local Eye clinic for about 12 years. So I wear scrubs every day and don’t get a chance to get dolled up very often. I found Ayla Quellhorst Photography through Facebook and fell in love with both her art and her philosophy of helping women of all shapes and sizes feel confident and beautiful.
I decided to do a boudoir session because I’ve gone through a major weight loss and a painful divorce in the last year and I needed to do something for myself that would make me feel beautiful and confident in my own skin. My hope was that if anyone could make me look beautiful it would be Ayla and her team. But my biggest fear was that it wouldn’t work despite their best efforts. That no matter what they did with the makeup or the lighting, my body would be too ugly, too flabby, too fat, too dimply and all my worst features would show up in the photos.
I thought I would be really self conscious during my session. But the whole team made me feel so comfortable right from the start. I had fun getting dressed up and tied up. I felt beautiful and sexy. I felt like a confident woman. When I saw my photos for the first time, I was so amazed, I started to cry. They were stunning! I’d never seen myself that way before. I couldn’t see any of my bad parts. They just weren’t there. It was amazing!!!
Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself and do it. You’re not just getting pictures, your getting an experience that will give you a boost of self confidence you can’t get anywhere else.
