Once you’ve decided that you are going to have a boudoir shoot, your next decisions will be: where you want to have the shoot take place, when should it take place (time of day), and finally, and most importantly, what are you going to wear? Here are a couple of ideas to jump start some creativity and get you thinking about how to make sure that your boudoir shoot is all about the most important thing: you!
T-Shirt
A wonderful idea, if you aren’t comfortable with lingerie or maybe you don’t want to start out with really sexy stuff. An option is to put on your comfy tee that got worn out and so you only wear it to bed. Is there a better way to start out your shoot, then in your most beloved piece of clothing? Not sexy, you say. I’m sure your partner thinks it’s very sexy, and it is important for you to feel like yourself so your inner beauty will shine through in your photos.
Leather Jackets
Another piece of clothing that is not lingerie exactly, but can be very boudoir appropriate is a leather jacket. Do you or your partner have a leather jacket that speaks through its cracks? Does it talk about all the different rides to different places because of the way that it’s been worn down, the way that the leather fits just right? If so, that is a jacket that you can feel good getting naked in and, because you feel your best, your session will be better than you imagined.
Conclusion
At the end of the day, the most important part of your boudoir session is that you are happy with the photos. The best way to set yourself up to be not only happy, but astonished with the result, is to find a couple of pieces of clothing, maybe not racy lingerie that you don’t feel like yourself in, but clothing that you can wear by itself that speaks to you, about you, and that you feel good in.
