It’s official! Your boudoir session is booked and the date is approaching. There is no better way to prepare for a stunning photo shoot than to take a day to show yourself some love. Taking some time to prepare can make all the difference in a session, and leave you feeling amazing. We have put together five easy tips to help you prepare for your session.
PAMPER YOURSELF
A boudoir session is all about being empowered and comfortable in your own skin. It’s about learning how to love yourself again and making time for YOU. Set an appointment to get your finger and toenails professionally done. Have them painted your favorite color or that beautiful tone that catches your eye. Remember, your hands and feet will be in the shot so you should pay close attention to even these small details.
STICK WITH YOUR ROUTINE
Make sure to shave in your usual places before the shoot. If you wax regularly, it is best to do so at least a couple of days before the session. Either way, it is best to stick to your regular routine. Trying something new may cause irritation that can show in the images, so avoid this by doing what works for you!

HAIR AND MAKEUP
It is very important to make sure your hair is thoroughly washed the night before your session. Grease likes to show in the images, no matter how little. Your hair and makeup should be product free except for a light moisturizer. It is critical for your hair to be completely dry before the shoot and left untouched by any styling tool. Don’t worry, our team will take care of any frizz or curl.
Stretch!
This is possibly the most important tip on the list. During your session, we will be working with poses that put your body in positions that are not normal to anyone. This can and most likely will cause soreness the day after, even for clients who work out on a regular basis. We will be arching, bending, and lengthening everything for each pose. Begin stretching 3 days prior to your session, this will not only help ease the soreness but aid in the flexibility needed for these killer images.
PREP OUTFITS
Your shoot day should be as stress-free as possible, and having your outfit ready the day before can help relieve you of a lot of pressure. Nothing is worse than forgetting to bring something to your session or rushing to put everything together the morning of. Keep in mind that wrinkles like to show up in the images, so place everything in a garment bag or have it laying flat in order to avoid them.
